My Working Dogs
I have been very fortunate to have experience with two very different guide dogs over the past ten years. They are fine examples of how people and dogs can make partnerships for independence and they have added much to my life.
Granite served me first as guide for close to seven years and Johann currently is filling the role superbly. Both dogs are proud graduates of Guiding Eyes for the Blind located in Yorktown Heights New York (www.guidingeyes.org). This is just one school of many that are training dogs as mobility partners for persons with severe vision loss or blindness.
I have been asked many times questions about my dogs and our work together. I have wondered how my dogs would answer the questions if they could only speak human. Below are a few handouts I have prepared written from their perspective. I hope you find them useful.

Finding My Path by Johann
Granite continued to serve many as a therapy visitor with Pals for Life until his death in June 2010. He will always remain in the hearts of many as a kind and loving spirit. He will serve as a mascot and inspiration forever at EZ2C Foundation. A visit to our office will reflect his influence even in the décor, black lab inspired.
