Granite and Johann

Granite My trusty guide dog and friend Granite. has changed his career. After working over six years with me and reaching a senior age of ten he has chosen to give up the harness. Fortunately for us all he is in great health but the day to day stress of traveling on public transportation and meeting the challenges of traffic has taken its toll on his spirit.

The good news is that he has found a great second career. Granite is working part time as a volunteer therapy dog with Pals for Life (www.palsforlife.org). He gets to go for rides in cars with friendly people and get greeted and patted with love while visiting nursing homes, rehabilitation centers and other supportive facilities. On his days off, he will either visit our office or relax at home with our other pets.

Granite will still serve as our mascot at EZ2C Foundation. He is truly a symbol of the best life has to offer for those with vision limitations.

He is pictured here on left and his successor Johann on right. Good looks and personality seem to be common traits of dogs from Guiding Eyes for the Blind.
